St Hugh’s Church in Cockernhoe is a “tin tabernacle” and was first erected in 1904 – originally as a ten-year arrangement!
One side of the church has been recently replaced and the pews that were in St Francis’ were shortened and installed at St Hugh’s when St Francis’ changed to using chairs.
The building hosts services the week before Christmas, when an all-age Carol Service is held and on Easter Morning.
In addition, Cockernhoe Primary School, with whom we have strong links, use St Hugh’s for a monthly service.
